Wirriimbi Designs is an Indigenous owned business that produces contemporary designs inspired by the landscapes and stories of Koori people.
Wirriimbi means Saltwater Oak from the Gumbaynggir language of Nambucca Heads.
Wirriimbi Designs use a mixture of modern materials like acrylic on canvas infused with earth from our landscape to communicate our stories.
Our paintings are interpretations of dreaming stories that have been passed down to us by our Elders.
Our Dreaming tracks or stories have been passed down for many thousands of years through paintings in caves, trees and on the ground.
Today we paint with modern materials, like acrylic paint on canvas, to tell our ancient stories.
